TapLocal uses NFC, the same technology as contactless payment. The customer holds their phone near the tag and your page opens.

Every tag in your kit is written with a unique TapLocal link for your business and its placement (counter, door, table).

iPhone and Android read the tag natively. The phone shows a notification and opens your page in the browser.

FAQ
Common questions
Is NFC the same as a QR code?
No. A QR code needs the camera opened and aimed; an NFC tap works by holding the phone near the tag. Both open the same TapLocal page, and every kit includes a QR fallback for older phones.
Does the customer need to unlock their phone?
iPhones read tags from the lock screen and show a notification; Android phones typically need to be unlocked. Either way it takes a second.
Can one tag do several things?
Yes. A tag opens your TapLocal page, which can show any combination of review, Wi-Fi, coupon, loyalty and chat actions.
